2024 British Open Staff Bag
This year’s British Open makes a noble return to Troon, South Ayrshire, Scotland for the 10th time in 2024. This year’s staff bag and accessories are laced in royalty and celebrate centuries-old traditions.
All Hail These Hallowed Grounds
The staff bag’s colors of purple, gold and white signify everything royal about this year’s venue. It received Royal designation in 1978 as it celebrated its centenary.
Anyone that’s ever played the diabolical 8th hole will appreciate the purple postage stamps with the number 8 found on the outside of the bag as well as on the inner linings of the pockets.
The gold ring around the top of the bag is scripted with 152nd to signify the 152nd playing of the oldest championship in golf. TaylorMade logos on the bag and headcovers are made from a flocking material that’s emblematic of the collars royalty have worn around their coats for centuries.
Gold railroad tracks gilded with the number 11 are found on the back of the bag. They celebrate one of the course’s most difficult holes that’s bordered by railroad tracks down the entire right side.
A gold ring on the bottom of the bag boasts two serpents which are symbolic of the host venue’s seal.
The Latin phrase Tam Arte Quam Marte found on the handle represents the venue’s motto which translates to As Much by Skill as by Strength.
